The Budwig Diet Protocol & why I'm giving it to my dad



Since being on this journey with my dad I have learned so many things about nutrition, cancer and homeopathic remedies.


I became part of an amazing cholangiocarcinoma group on Facebook and found these amazing people eager to help newbies through what was going to be a LONG haul.


One of the first things that I learned about was this Budwig Diet.


This health-boosting protocol was developed by Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and author. Budwig was a pharmacist and held doctorate degrees in physics and chemistry backed by her research on fatty acids, she produced a diet that she believed was useful in treating cancer.


We have been doing this for over a month and a few other things but I will get into those at a later time. I think the Budwig is helping my dad feel good with all these natural ingredients. Just to think they only gave my dad a few weeks to live and here we are over a month later.


In this recipe you will find these ingredients:

Organic Grass Fed Cottage cheese - 100% whole milk

Flaxseed Oil - organic

Flaxseeds - grind them yourself dont buy them already ground! - I purchased a small coffee grinder for $15

Raw Honey

Tumeric - organic

Crushed Black Pepper - organic

Cinnamon - organic

Ginger - organic

Berries - labeled antioxidants - I find mine at Tagert in the freezer section


My dad eats this every day for lunch because it works for his schedule. You have to be on an empty tummy for two hours and after eating the Budwig you cant eat anything else for 2 hours. I added a few other ingredients because I wanted to help the inflammation more.


Im going to attach the link so you can read more about Dr Budwig and her protocol and a few others she has and why she thinks it's so beneficial for people that are fighting this monster "cancer".



This is how I make my dads, you can try it the same way or you can grab another one of Dr. Budwigs. I will also include the measurements and brands that I use as well which were given to me by all the amazing people from the Facebook Group.




Ingredients:

4 tablespoons organic grass fed cottage cheese - 100% whole milk

2 tablespoons flaxseed oil - organic - Barlean's Fresh Flax Oil is the brand that we use

1 tablespoon flaxseeds - grind them yourself don't buy them already ground! - I purchased a small coffee grinder for $15 - Terrasoul Superfoods Golden Flax Seeds Raw & Sproutable is the brand we use

1 teaspoon raw honey - Wedderspoon Raw Monofloral Manuka Honey is the brand that we use

1 teaspoon tumeric - organic

1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper - organic

1 teaspoon cinnamon - organic

1 teaspoon ginger - organic

1/2 cup berries - labeled antioxidants - I find mine at Target in the freezer section



Directions:


First I put the cottage cheese and flaxseed oil in the food processor and give it a good blend 1/2 mins, It will look like a creamy butter.


Than I add all the spices and honey and give it a good mix in my food processor for 1/2 minutes.


Add in the blueberries and process again for another 1/2 minutes, It will look like a thick ice cream.


Pour it into a bowl and your done!


Remember two hours on an empty tummy and don't eat anything for two hours after.
